Ń Support Stray Cats

The road so far...

We don't get any external - governement founding. We pay for everything from our own pockets with some help from you guys and veterinarians who give us discounts when possible.

And since we do ask for a support, it's only fair we're very transparent about where does the money go.

Equipment (€384,38)

Definitely stuff from this category was the most expensive. On the other hand we bought, we have them now and we should be able to use them for a long, long time and save a lot of lifes.

Cat trap

Automated cat trap.

With this one we managed to catch cat mama.

Catching net

Catching net.

We didn't have opportunity to test this one yet. But there's this one basement near us, owned by an unfriendly guy. Unfortunately, many mamas choose to give birth there. We so far rescued 3 small kittens from there by a little-little B&E (please don't call the police on us!), but we hope maybe with this we'll be able to fish for kittens without actually going down there. We'll let you know!

Kennel cage

Big kennel cage (€48,80)

This is the cage in which mama stayed first with all the kittens and then alone. There's enough space for pillow, litter box and bowls.

Kennel cage

Medium kennel cage (€80.91)

This is the cage in which Shuri stayed at the beginning. It was a rush purchase, because of the circumstances in which we found her, we didn't have time to wait for a delivery and had to buy at local petstore. Got it with a small discount though.

Playpen

2 big playpens

When the time came to separate kittens from their mama, we knew we cannot move the mama from the big cage. But we wanted the kittens to have a lot of space to play when we're not around to let them out. Following the advice of Kitten Lady, we bought a doggy playpen, and then... another one. We joined them through the doors, so kittens can move from one to another. In one we created more of a leisure space and in other we put two litter boxes. It's the setup you can see on our stream.

Playpen

Small playpen

Additional smaller playpen we bought to the other room where Shuri stays temporarily with another rescue - her brother (he's not for adoption!). They're in quarantine that's why you don't see her on the stream.

Medicines (€597.63)

Since we're taking care of more kittens than we've ever expected, and don't wanna list every one's basic treatments separately, I'll just assure that each kitten goes through standard process of 2 spot on and 4 de-worming pill (or paste if very small). And each gets Synulox after spaying.

We'll be adding to the list only uncommon meds, but update the sum will all.

All animal meds we bought in Κτηνιατρική Αγορά - pet pharmacy. All human meds in human pharmacy: Φαρμακείο Παναγιώτης Σαράβας

Veterinarians (€1300)

This includes:

Food (€763.88)

To simplify things here, we're gonna share what kind of products we buy and overall sum. Listing every single purchase would make this section long as hell, but if you, supporters, want it, just let us know and we'll do our best!

Also we counted both food for the cats we've caught and the outside colony we're feeding daily.

As time goes by and we foster less cats (especially less super small baby kittens) we share with them food we buy for our residents, that's why food expenses are decreasing.

Not all of it is best quality, but considering how much the big colony eats, we need to compromise.

We usually do 1 or 2 big orders monthly from Zooplus and restock if needed in local shops: Pet City, Pet4u.gr and Το Petshopάκι.

Toys (€28.15)

Hygiene (€416.08)

Others (€82.68)

Here we put everything that didn't fit previous categories.
